Carnarvon is 904 kilometres from the capital of Western Australia, Perth.  Our nearest town is around 330 kilimetres away so we are very remote. .

GreyHound Bus

The Greyhound bus takes approximately twelve hours from Perth to Carnarvon and travels every day, some days twice.

Skywest Airlines

Skywest has aircraft travelling from Perth to Carnarvon Daily.  The direct flight takes two hours, some flights via Geraldton and Monkey Mia take half an hour longer.

Rent a Car

Carnarvon has two hire car companies, Avis and Budget.  Both keep a fine fleet of two wheel and four wheel drive vehicles.

Self Drive

In your own vehicle or a vehicle rented from elsewhere, you can drive to Carnarvon at your leisure.  Take the North West Coastal Highway from north or south and there are some most interesting itineraries available for you to enjoy.

Speed limits vary across the State, however the maximum limit is 110 kilometres per hour.

Major metropolitan arterial roads are generally capped at 60 kilometres per hour while suburban streets are almost exclusively limited to 50 kilometres per hour.

School zones are clearly marked and restricted to 40 kilometres per hour for two hour periods at the beginning and end of the school day.

The Western Australia Police Service employs radar and other speed monitoring devices, and fines are enforceable – even for visitors
