Travel tips:

The conditions of the road change depending on the weather, weight of recent traffic and how long since it was last graded. It is important you check road conditions before you depart with the stations directly or with the Shire of Carnarvon (08) 9941 0000.

  1. Drive safety, there is no rush. You are isolated at certain times of the year. Look out for animals – Sheep, kangaroos, goats, cows, horses wandering the road.
  2. Travel with plenty of water, food supplies and fuel so you are self sufficient. Limited services are available at station shops, your only closest destination for supplies is your return back to Carnarvon.
  3. Make sure your vehicle is ready for the trip including spare tyres and any necessarily items for your off road adventure. Whilst majority of the time the road is in fairly good condition, it is great to be prepared.

Travelling with Pets:

Carnarvon is a pet friendly area, though it is important that you keep your furry friend on a lead at all times due to 1080 poison baits. We ask that you clean up after your dog and be respectful of your neighbours.
