Gascoyne Food Festival

The 2017 Gascoyne Food Festival is back this August, 6 – 19 August.  The Gascoyne Food Festival celebrates the abundance of locally produced fruits, vegetables, beef and seafood, and the rich history and significance of the horticultural, pastoral and seafood industries within the Gascoyne region. The Gascoyne is set to welcome back Western Australia’s top chefs in August for its much anticipated annual food festival. Events will be held across the region including Dirk Hartog Island, Exmouth, Mount Augustus and Carnarvon, showcasing amazing meat, seafood, fresh fruit and vegetables and indigenous ingredients. The festival attracts locals and tourists alike, food lovers from near and far-flung places seeking out a unique culinary experience. 

The team of top chefs will be brought together by WA Food Ambassador Don Hancey from Panorama Catering. The group will experience the region up-close and personal with visits to local growers and producers on the Chef’s Tour before creating their dishes for guests.

Carnarvon Events 

BBQ on the Beach

  • Yacht Club, West Street 
  • 5.30pm 

The BBQ on the Beach returns at the Carnarvon Yacht Club on Thursday 10th from 5.30pm. Visitors can enjoy a twilight beachside BBQ of local Gascoyne produce cooked by WA Food Ambassador Don Hancey and his team of chefs from Panorama Catering. With a licensed bar and live music it is sure to be an evening to remember!

Tickets for this event are $45 Adult and $15 children up to the age of 10. BOOK TICKETS 

Long Table Lunch 

  • Friday 11 August 
  • Bentwaters Plantation, North River Road 
  • 12pm to 4pm 

The Long Table Lunch starts at 12 pm and is set in the heart of productive horticultural country on the Gascoyne River at Bentwaters Plantation. Hosted by the Gascoyne Food Council this lunch will be celebrating our local Gascoyne fare and farmers by showcasing their produce through a tapas style menu. Top WA chefs will be visiting the region and meeting the farmers before each cooking a dish to reflect their passion for the local produce to the guests.

Gascoyne Growers Markets

Come down and enjoy the vibrant and festive atmosphere of the Gascoyne Growers Markets on the Saturday morning from 8 to 11.30am. There will be tastings and cooking demonstrations from chefs, live entertainment and fresh fruit and vegetables to purchase whilst enjoying a fresh coffee and a Church Burger. Located at the Civic Centre Courtyard in Robinson Street, middle roundabout of the main street.

With the breathtaking backdrop of Sunrise Beach, rock star Chef Melissa Palinkas from Young George and the renowned Peter Manifis will be cooking up all Gascoyne produce.

Mount Augustus
