Town Facilities

Fascine at sunriseCarnarvon is a tropical oasis located 904km north of Perth on the West Australian coast. The town has an abundance of reserves and facilities available to the public, who may wish to take the opportunity to relax, play sport or socialise while visiting town or for those who have made the choice of a truly wonderful lifestyle change.

 Aquatic Centre

The Carnarvon Aquatic Centre is open over the summer months usually from October to April. The facility includes a 6 lane 50m outdoor pool and a toddlers/learners pool.

The facility offers plenty of shaded grass, BBQ facilities and a kiosk with hot food, ice creams and coffee. A fully shaded and fenced playground is also available on site.

 Civic Centre

ciivic centreThe town’s main entertainment and venue hire complex. The Woolshed is available for hire and can accommodate up to 300 people with a commercial kitchen available onsite. The complex is also home to the town’s theatre which screens movies weekly and has live show performances throughout the year. A kiosk is available prior to live shows and movies. For information regarding upcoming live shows and movies please visit the events page of our website or alternatively visit the Carnarvon Civic Centre website www.carnarvonciviccentre.com.

Tickets for live shows and movies can be purchased through the Civic Centre website or by calling or visiting the Carnarvon Visitor Centre (99411 146).

 Library & Art Gallery Services

Carnarvon Regional Library and Art GalleryThe library offers temporary membership to visitors wishing to use the facility to hire items from their collection of books, magazines, puzzles, audio books, DVDs and videos. It is also a good stop off point for anyone interested in learning more about the local history. The library has internet & computer facilities available including WIFI. The facility was recently opened in a new complex located on Egan Street in September 2013. The Library complex also houses the Art Gallery with the current display including art from a number of our local artists.

Fascine & Town Beach

Carnarvon Town Beach ParkThis picturesque reserve can be found at the end of the main street just a short distance from the main shopping area of town. The waterway is often home to a variety of boats and water activities and is fringed by a palm lined pathway for those wishing to enjoy a leisurely stroll. Playground and BBQ facilities are also available on town beach near the tramway bridge for those wishing to relax while enjoying one of the Fascine’s magnificent sunsets.
